A grim scene unfolded in Whitestone, Queens, as authorities responded to a distress call reporting an unconscious teenager in a home on Leggett Place around 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday. 

Upon arrival, officers discovered 17-year-old Vasilios Golias unresponsive. Despite efforts to revive him, Golias was pronounced dead at the scene.

Discovery of Suspicious Device:

Adding to the situation’s complexity, police uncovered a suspicious device within the residence. Concerns escalated momentarily until the bomb squad was called to assess the situation. 

Fortunately, the device was deemed non-threatening, alleviating fears of immediate danger.
