Norwalk police are urging motorists to be patient as Interstate 95 remains closed following a fiery collision involving two trucks and a car.
The closure, which occurred around 5:30 a.m. Thursday, under the Fairfield Avenue overpass, has led to several additional road closures.
Police Assistance in Alleviating Congestion:
I-95 North is shut down between exits 14 and 15, while I-95 South is closed between exits 16 and 15. Though no serious injuries have been reported, the impact on traffic is substantial.
To mitigate congestion, Norwalk police have deployed officers to various intersections throughout the city to facilitate traffic flow.
Detour Routes and Additional Closures:
Several roads have been closed to divert traffic effectively:
- Fairfield Avenue: Closed from Cedar Street to Connecticut Avenue.
- Cedar Street: It will be closed eastbound from Connecticut Avenue to Fairfield Avenue and full closure in both directions from Fairfield Avenue to Reed Street.
- Stuart Avenue: Closed southbound from Connecticut Avenue to Reed Street.
